Los Naranjos Puerto Banus 18 Holes

Los Naranjos Golf Course

Long terraced tees and large greens amidst fragrant orange trees are characteristic of the well maintained golf course at Los Naranjos.

Under the direction of Christer Sorensson, Los Naranjos is run on the philosophy that "golf means more than just sport." The new Andalusian style clubhouse bears this out emphasising a total golfing experience.

Maximum use has been made of orange trees from which the course gets its name. Maintenance is a priority: each morning a team of 20 staff prepare the course for members and guests, one of whom is often Sean Connery.

La Quinta Puerto Banus 27 Holes

La Quinta G & CC

La Quinta demands stamina and accuracy from its elevated tees. The Golf School is on hand for those wishing to improve.

A challenging course at the top of Marbella's golf valley inaugurated in 1989. Three nine-hole loops, played in different combinations, wind through a large real estate development. A technical course that reflects the designer Manuel Piñero's own playing characteristics in that it rewards accuracy rather than long hitting. A variety of hazards come into play from elevated tees with trees, water, sand and streams to negotiate before approaching a good proportion of raised greens. Not too difficult to walk.

Home to the former World Champion Manuel Piñero's Golf School and the Westin La Quinta 5-star hotel.

Real Club de Campo de Málaga Málaga 18 Holes

Real Club Campo de Malaga Golf Course

The Club de Campo requires strength and strategy to navigate the stands of well established trees and natural lagoons. Although flat with wide fairways, the trees make things more difficult. The 12th hole is a good example of this lurking danger.

Also known as the Parador - it belongs to the state-run hotel chain - is the oldest course on the Spanish mainland. Designed by Mr.Simpson in 1925, the flat, links-style layout was extensively refurbished before it staged the 2000 Turespaña Masters on the European Tour won by local hero Miguel Ángel Jiménez. 1km from Málaga International airport.

Golf here is a very pleasant experience, offering wonderful views, well established trees and much appreciated shade while the river intersects the course at various points. Designed by Robert Trent Jones it is a long golf course with opening holes crossed by ravines and gulleys which require accurate and brave teeshots. The 4th hole, a par 3, is just tee and green, while everything in between is bandit country. The 12th is a sheer pleasure with memorable sea views.

Torrequebrada Benalmádena 18 Holes

Torrequebrada Golf Course

Since it first opened in 1976 this Pepe Gancedo masterpiece has been recognised as one of the most beautiful courses on the Costa del Golf.

Venue for the Spanish Open 1977.Here, the tee shot is of prime importance. A wild drive and all may be lost as trees, woods, rough, bunkers and water are all very much to the fore. Should you be tempted to confuse short length with ease of play, the third hole - only 80 metres to a long and narrow contoured green - will soon disabuse you of this notion.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones and lovingly attended by owner Jaime Ortiz Patiño, this is one of the continent´s toughest challenges. The 4th hole a par 5 of spectacular beauty ends on a raised green, next to a cascade of water on its way to the greenside lake. The famous par five 17th features a green with bunkers behind and slopes forwards to an emerald lake is the favourite of spectators and the hatred of championship players.
